Busy Busy Busy

What a busy and great week! :) First, there was Fashion First and then the day after was my birthday!  Lots of celebration time with friends and family.  Yesterday, I had a very informative class about Brazilian Glossing which I will post about tomorrow. (So excited!!!)

Fashion First happened on this past Thursday, September the 16th. The evening started for the team, at 5pm, where we set up in the back of the Sodo Showbox, in Seattle. It was an great evening filled with many Seattle boutiques showing off their collections for this fall and winter, 2010. The evening also showcased up and coming designers in the Seattle area, with a set called..."Seamless in Seattle".
One of the more heart warming moments during the runway show itself was, being able to honor the late Seattle Officer Timothy Brenton who was killed in the line of duty this last October. Some of the officers who walked the runway, in tribute to Officer Brenton, did so in style and looked a little bit more at ease in casual attire.

Now to show you the behind the scenes action...

Here was our hair inspiration look. Christian Dior 2010 Fall/Winter collection

Here we go! Curling and setting hair up a storm...

Thank you to our 3 apprentices for the evening... Brooke, Antoinette and Rashel! They did an amazing job and we were happy to have them there!

I honestly think that there was SO much hairspray in the air that it was hard to achieve a clear picture :)

All the makeup for the evening was done by Swink.

Here are some pictures from the runway show...

The doors opened at 7pm for cocktail hour. At 8:15pm the auction started and by the end of the evening, Fashion First had raised over $55,000.00 for the Rise-n-Shine Foundation. By 10:30pm we were all packed up and headed home!

We had a great time at this show and can't wait til next years!
Great job by Joan Kelly, founder of Fashion First, and Lizzie Parker!
CHEERS!

  1. I love the behind the scenes action and pics (are we hairdressers or what?)
